Ladie’s League

Ladies’ League Golf Season

Hello Ladies…The 2021 Golf Season will be here soon. Let’s hope it will be more ‘normal’ than last year.  We hope many of you will join us for a fun season of golf and socializing. Even if you’ve never been a part of Ladies League, we’d love for you to come and spend your Thursdays this summer with us. We are always looking for more lady golfers regardless of your skill level. It’s a great time to get together with old friends and make new friends as well. If you know of anyone who might be interested in joining us, please encourage them to give it a try.

Come and Play…If league isn’t something you’re comfortable with, you are always welcome to make a tee time to golf on Thursday afternoons and join us for food, a drink or play another nine.

Ladies League…League play is available for those who want a little competition. Our goal is to make league play as fun and stress free as possible. Our league’s format is team play. In the past, each team had 6-7 members depending on how many ladies sign up for league. The team’s score is calculated by taking the top three net rounds each week. This format allows golfers of all skill levels to play and contribute. One nine each week is closed for league members starting at 3:00. You sign up with league members that you want to play with and at the time that works for you. Even if you don’t have a group to sign up with, please feel free to sign up with another group. We promise we will all be very welcoming.

Handicaps…All league golfers are required to have an established handicap. The seasonal cost for this computerized service is $30 for AGC members and $40 for non-members. This is an increase from last year and set by MGA not the AGC. This must be paid each year to maintain your handicap. If you do not have a current handicap, you are encouraged to complete a minimum of 5- 18 hole rounds prior to the start of league play. These rounds can be played on any golf course, so keep track of your scores. See Aaron Kleinschmidt, Albany Golf Club’s general manager, if you have any questions.

Getting Started…League Play will begin with a team scramble on May 6th. This is a great way for you to meet and get to know your team members. The final day to sign up for Ladies’ League will be April 21st. This will give us time to set up the teams as fairly as possible. It’s very important that you sign up by April 21st. Last year the teams got too big because of last minute additions.

As we discussed and voted on last August, the fees are going to go up.. This year Ladies’ League dues will be a total of $70 for AGC members ($30-handicap, $40-league play which includes: weekly golf balls for winning team members, and the weekly ringer scores game and Blind Bogey and $80 for non-members.  League dues must be paid prior to the first night of league play (May 6th). The dates of this year’s league play and the payment form for everything is included with this letter.

There is no Spring Dinner prior to the scramble, so you will need to send your registration form and money to the golf course at this address before April 15th:

Albany Golf Course   P.O. Box 338    Albany, MN 56307

Fun Stuff…As of right now the Rally for the Cause is scheduled for July 22. Brooke Kleinschmidt graciously agreed to chair this event. More info will be sent out as it gets closer to summer.
